This is a complete list of design elements with line colors other than black in the official art:
- Torracat's bell
- Incineroar's belt
- the Popplio line's frills
- Vikavolt's wings
- the Cutiefly line's wings
- the Dewpider line's bubbles
- the underside of Shiinotic's hat
- Comfey's flowers
- the Sandygast line's sand
- Kommo-o's fur
- Cosmog's gases
- Necrozma in its entirety
- Ash-Greninja's shuriken
- The green parts of Zygarde Cell and Zygarde Core
- Zygarde (10% Forme)'s scarf
- Alolan Raichu's... finger-separating lines... what are those called?
- The divisions of the bricks on Alolan Sandshrew
- Alolan Sandslash's ice
- Alolan Vulpix's fluffy head and tail
- Alolan Ninetales in its entirety
- The details on the inside of Alolan Muk's crystals
- Alolan Marowak's fire
- Nihilego in its entirety
- Pheromosa in its entirety
In every single one of these cases, the line is covered consistently for a specific design element - nowhere is it used for shading. For contrast with these leaks, the Grass-type starter's foreleg and eye, the Fire-type starter's eye and the back of its head and the Water-type starter's trunk, eye mark and the linework of the blue part of its body all use line coloring for shading - selectively and only in lighter areas or areas with softer divides, with several of said lines switching from black to colored partway through. It's not something Game Freak ever does in official art.
>>35019981I can assure you that nobody who said this about the leaked Alolan starters would have been right, because they didn't have this problem. Their concept art (which is what was leaked) DIDN'T use colored lines. That's... completely not comparable.
I'm sorry to disappoint - I like these as much as the next person, but they're definitely not drawn in Game Freak's style.
