You know, the more I think about this, the more depressing it gets. Leaf would never grow up, being forever stuck in the mindset of a child. Red would take her on adventures, and try to care for her, but eventually he'd grow old and pass away, and Leaf would be left alone in the world.

Leaf is from Leaf Green and Fire Red. Red and Blue grew up and appear in SM and USUM, but Leaf is nowhere to be found.

Honestly they should just swap Red for Leaf whenever the player picks a girl character. If the player is playing as a boy, they still fight Red. But if they’re playing as a girl they fight Leaf, and it’s Red who doesn’t exist.
