Revenge killing is only noteworthy when there are enough broken mons in a tier to have multiple fears. Like Kyurem-B is another mon lacking counters, especially with Z-Freeze Shock being waved around. Gravity is a legitimate set that not many people take advantage of, much better than Smack Down in that you don't have to keep Smacking Down. And the whole point is to claim an important kill or multiple, so figuring out a set is walking on thin ice.

But oftentimes what it is is just the teams being copypasted, and despite the mon not putting in the work, it still contributes to usage for being on the team. It's just especially insulting when many users, even 'authority smogon figures' shit on innovative/unorthodox mons or sets as the norm instead of allowing experimentation or adapting.
For example, Pheromosa shouldn't have gone before Mega Metagross. Pheromosa had way more counters that disrupted it than M-Meta, but the thing was, the rate of Pheromosa innovation was far greater than the rate of Pheromosa answer innovation. Ghost types, Poison types, and Fairy types dealt with both its STABs. Jellicent and Mantine were pretty hard counters, among other options that discouraged it like SpDef Buzzwole and Volcarona.
