Gen 8 will introduce cross breeding. A pokemon that came from being bred by 2 certain different species of pokemon, will have some physical features from it's parent whose species it isn't. This will be purely cosmetic. However there will be a few full new pokemon lines that can only be obtained through cross breeding. And they will not be able to breed themselves.
