The anime is only watched by kids and manchildren, but the game is consistently known and played by a lot of people. I don't know who could think Go is the first Pokemon game, but it makes no sense, do you live in a small town or something?
Also, like most posts say, there's a pretty big TCG market here, but few people knows its a game
