How is this possible that Hitoshi Ariga designs so many stuff every game? He did more Pokémon in Gen 7 than James Turner in his whole design history. Could he be the next Pokémon design director? I hope to see a starter feom him next Gen.

This is an amazing track record for Gens 6 and 7 but then he fucks it up with Alolan Golem. It's literally the only bad line he's done.

True. I imagine the higher ups went "we want an Alolan form for the Geodude line, make something". But seriously, the same person made Aurorus, Vikavolt, Drampa, Mega-Beedrill, Malamar, Pangoro, AND Aegislash, amazing stuff.

I think Japanese designers work more closely with gamefreak than people like James Turner. Supposedly an American is making one of the gen 8 starters tho
