If the first switch game is really a kanto sequel, if new Pokemon are in it would they be considered gen 7 mons?

Until they make gen 8 it's still technically gen 7. If it's a new game with new starters that takes place in kanto, then it's safe to call it gen 8 tho

pick one, if any of yis were actually reading the Iwata asks interviews he did covering HeartGold/SoulSilver up to X/Y, you'd twig why they don't do remakes out the arse (they find them boring to do all the time). Ain't no fucking way they're kicking off their time on the Switch with a re-do, when they know new regions sell better than rehashes and remakes.

They also know Gen 1 sells better. And the "boring" argument wouldn't really apply here, I'm sure they'd love to give Kanto the HD treatment.

Kanto is objectively boring and rby was recently re released a kanto remake so soon after and first switch game would be weird. They could do a sequel that takes place in kanto as long as some of the gym leaders and e4 were different and there was a handful of new mons a d regional forms
