Get a better taste?
I can't see how you could find gen 5 any more boring than the previous generations considering it has better developed rivals, gym leaders and enemy team, and added a crapton of new Pokemon. And of course, muh story and shit.
The only thing that I could see ruining your experience is the linear gameplay, but the last region that was remotely open world was Johto, so you should be used to it by now.

i dont think you can force yourself to find it fun, people will see it as a good game for many reasons as you would on what you consider a god pokemon game

i personally enjoy the designs a lot, and thats all i need, but aside from that story, music, atmosphere, it all feels good to me

many people prefer the BW2 because the more expanded pokedex (that and many other reasons), but i really like it better when its just pokemon from that generation as it is in BW
