>>35056194No. GF won't ever change the basic formula of the mainline games, that'll be suicide. These games are huge in Japan and because of that no one there would allow any significant changes to them - for that same reason Dragon Quest games retain the same exact formula since the Famicom days.
I think what they would (and should) change is the scale. Make the world way bigger and more diverse than usual to let people get lost in it. Pokemon was always about the feeling of adventure and exploration, and nothing sparks that quite like a huge and completely unknown landscape before you (see: the first few minutes of BotW). Or course Pokemon is very different to Zelda, but they can still do it. We don't need the story or a horde of supporting characters, we just need a hat, a starter, some pokeballs and a beautiful open road before us. It's time to forget about convoluted storylines with more dialogue than an Ace Attorney game, and return to from.
Much like Zelda in its Skyward Sword days, Pokemon is getting stale. Now it needs its own BotW.
