ITT: Designs you feel that your supposed to hate, but there is one aspect of it that prevents you from doing so

Almost killed the line for me but then:

The tongue scarf is the thing that prevents me from liking Greninja. I think it's retarded and unrealistic - is the intention that it looks detached? Cause it doesn't at all look like it's coming out of it's mouth.

My favourite Pokémon is Cubone. Without the skull it would just be a blob.

Yeah, this definitely helped. When Greninja first leaked i thought the Tonguescarf was the most clever design quirk i'd seen on a pokemon, but i also remember thinking that part of the design wasn't enough to make me love Greninja as a whole, I'm guessing because of the insanely low quality of the original leak .

That being said, once those amie screens and GIFs started leaking i immediately changed my mind. I'm pretty sure it was those original Amie leaks that were responsible in Greninja's surge of popularity in the first place. He then slowly became my overall favorite starter.

Same here. I hated its design at first but the pro wrestling heel thing and the dex entries made me warm up to it. Now one of my favorite starters

Yeah, the tongue scarf is what makes it for me. If it was just a ninja frog, I wouldn't care. But the fact that its scarf is its tongue is ridiculous enough for me to like it.
