Not really, but as an antagonist, he works much better than many of the villains of the series including Ghetsis.
Also, In B/W you at least are the hero, you ggo on your own journey, explore multiple caves and ruins, different seasons, different weather, more than 180 new pokemon, multiple areas to backtrack to and explore.
It's just overall 10x better.

I wish she was hated. I'd have a little bit of hope for the next game if the fanbase didn't like such a horrible character so much. Too bad there are a massive amount of people who will like a shitty character as long as it's female. It's their fault if we get another S/M where every few minutes we're interrupted by some idiot npc who can't do anything for herself and who the story revolves around instead of us getting a decent game where we can just go on an adventure with our pokemon in peace.

N is the antagonist you have to fight during the climax of his game. His appearences are build up to this.
Lillie is the real protagonist of her game in all but getting stuff done, so her appearences feel intrusive to the player. It's like they wanted to have their cake and eat it by telling Lillie's story but still having the main character be a blank slate.
