I think Ga-Ole gives us a good idea. People make a big deal out of making 800+ 3D mons but it's actually not that difficult, modern 3D games usually have thousands of unique models.

The reason the models look like ass are shit animations and lack of proper lighting/good shaders. Thinking that being on the switch will improve these things is logical but it's Gamefreak we're talking about here.

GBA sprites always look oversaturated because it didn't have a backlit screen so many devs saturated the colors in their games to make everything easier to see in a bright environment.

Yeah, good luck. The Switch game's shaders are going to be inferior to Detective Pikachu, Pokedex 3D, Go and Ga-Ole and everybody here unfortunately knows it because Game Freak.

Plus, they've been fucking up lighting for the past two generations, not just with the whole model shading and texture palettes. Those nights are way too bright and then there's the whole thing with Melemele being plagued in weird glows.
