I've been levelling up my nidoking in my soulsilver game. Right now he is lvl 46 - he knows surf, double kick, focus energy, and earth power. His ability is Rivalry and his nature is rash.

I love how versatile Nidoking is - you can use physical moves, special moves, a mix of both - you can use Nidoking as not only a fantastic adventure mon with hm moves, but also a really useful heavy defensive mon with toxic, swagger, substitute, and attract. Give it black sludge as the held item as well!
