I wouldn't be surprised if Tajiri appears in the credits just to give the whole thing more weight.

Asian genes can be amazing anon, it can make them look really youthful. Also Tajiri is absolutely going to be in the credits for the game because he’s always included as the creator of the series.

I think Tajiri is top-ranking executive at Game Freak now and as such won't be going back into the trenches. With the way Japanese businesses methods of promotion, the longest serving staff are chosen for any vacancies in the rank above and as Tajiri founded the company, he's most suited to that role as he ultimately gets final say so on game projects, most likely.
