So the score is 3 - 3 fuck what do I choose then?

Night during the day is shit. I played Moon pretending it was ok. It was not. I bought UltraSun because of that.

For me, I rarely play during the day. Day at nighttime is my preference because I'm so tired of it always being nighttime in my Pokemon games

Keep in mind there's also the year-long legendary events depending on where you live. The Dialga/Palkia one is over and the Heatran/Regigigas one is for current Trainer Club subscribers, but the other ones are upcoming.

It really doesn't matter, only the legendary you get at the end and the sun/moon cycle are different. If you are a evening/night player like I am and you got the game because you want to play during the in-game night, then I suggest getting Ultra Sun, if you like playing during the in-game day, get Ultra Moon.
