Was Alola and all of Gen 7 just one big meme to GF? Everything feels like it's meant to be some kind of bad attempt at being funny, from the region name and greeting, to the goofy anime. It almost feels like they just parodied the shit out of Gen V for a shameless, full on Gen 1 pandering experiences. Even Team Rocket returns and presents itself as the ultimate main villain while everyone sees Team Skull as a bunch of losers. The Hawaii concept sounded cool at first, until it kinda just turned into a whole 2-year vacation that one gets sick of after a month or two. X and Y were a little shit from how lacking they were, but at least it had a little more dignity. Even though it was bad, at least it made an attempt to present itself like a game to be taken serious. Alola is just "lmao malasadas" and "Kanto is objectively the best region, even better than this Hawaii shit."
