How do we fix the Stealth Rock problem? I think distribution is a big problem, shit like Chansey & Clefable shouldn't learn it. Maybe keep it for Ground/Steel/Rock types

Deals 12% damage on everything regardless of typing.

So it's in line with Spikes and Toxic Spikes. Deals more immediate damage than them, but has less potential as it can't be stacked.

Optimal solution: remove the move from the game, we have too many entry hazards already.

Entry hazards are not the problem. Power creep in the form of min maxed stats and infinite movepools are the real problem. but Gamefreak has never cared about "balance." At least not the kind the majority of the fan base would like to see.

The worst part about Stealth Rock imo is the fact that it goes off of type effectiveness. So any Pokemon that is weak to Rock just immediately has a disadvantage. That sucks, man.

It already gets shat upon by Stealth Rock. It'll actually benefit from this. Now, it gets fucked 100% times by SR. If there are more SR variations, that goes down.

The truth. Stealth Rock was an issue back when Starmie was the only reliable remover of them and pressuring the Starmie with stuff like Rotom/TTar was huge and didn't allow for much margin of error. Defog enables a fuckton more Pokemon to remove rocks.

You say that as if SR and defog weren't introduced in the exact same generation. Availiable to roughly as many pokémon. With most defog pokémon being weak to stealth rock anyway. And SR centralized gen 4's meta anyway.

You're acting as if defog worked the exact same way in gen 4 as it did in gen 6. Also while most defoggers are weak to rocks, there plenty of viable ones you can run who aren't weak to rocks.

Just make it no longer a TM/tutorable. It being strong is fine, just make having the move in the first place be a specialty. It'd be healthy to potentially bring some shitmons into the meta because they're the only ones with Stealth Rock.

Stealth Rocks are fine. There are enough counter play options at this point between Rapid Spin, Defog, Taunt and Magic Bounce. Pokémon like Volcarona and Charizard are top tier even with their double Rock weakness. While im not sure about EVERY type getting it's own i don't think two or three "Clones" would be a bad thing provided they didn't all "stack"(That would obviously be retarded), Hell, make those new versions Signature Moves for new Pokémon (Lines) and keep SR as the "Widespread" version and keep these ones more under lock and key, maybe have the occasional Eventmon have em.
