>>35117046best gen by far. dumbasses shit on it and say it had nothing because it didnt have a "big game changer!!!" like the split, mega evolution, or z moves but it introduced so many little changes that make a big difference overall. moreso than z moves and mega evolution honestly lol
also the least nostalgia pandering of any gen after 3. it actually knew how to be a good game on its own and leave a lasting impression for anything other than "hey remember the original like 150-250 pokemon?"
best character designs too, not just pokemon but actual human characters in the game. and theyre all relevant to the main story in some way, at least moreso than other generations
and it has the only "definitive version" that couldnt be argued to just be "lol $40 dlc". bw2 is so good and different and adds so many little things. people will talk up another generation like "oh hgss is the best because it had pokemon walking behind you" but forget all the great things gen 5 introduced. i remember my appreciation for gen 5 every time i play gen 6 and 7 and it asks if i wanna use another repel lmao
also has the best postgame imo. ive seen people here say unova had no postgame but it has so much to do its unreal. if you go to bulbapedias walkthrough pages for every main game, unova games have the most sections under post game. also the pwt is the most replayable battle facility imo, even if the leaders teams are always the same or whatever, i wish the battle tree or something had the type expert challenge like in the pwt. and i love that you can level up your pokemon in white tree hollow which is basically a battle facility and you can get rare candies in it. i know its easily argued that battle facilities with random pokemon like USUMs battle agency have more replayability but i love the type expert challenge in BW2 so much. constructing teams of each type was so fun
gen 5 was a blessing
