Couple months maybe. They recycled so many scenes from SM, a lot of them not making sense anymore with the new story. the only thing they really needed to work on was the Ultra Wormhole shit (which was fucking awful anyway). Probably the most dissappointing Pokemon game to ever be released, escpecially since 7th gen are the only Pokemon games i cant bring myself to replay.

I think it was planned as a actual third version (one game) but copying the whole fusion mechanic from Kyurem was a late decision to went full jew and split the already little content into 2 games
