Especially since we're about 10 years on in the timeline (even if there is no further jump forward) in a separate branch of the timeline meaning nothing is off limits for adding/changing.
Oak could've easily been wrong that there were only 150 or there simply could be more species brought in since or just existing in the region in this timeline.
