Raticate gets the gift of nostalgia + an Alola form.
Furret also gets the gift of nostalgia (but would be forgettable without it).
Linoone gets the gimmicky BDESpeed to help us remember.
Bibarel is doofy and is known as a great HM slave.
Diggersby gets Huge Power so it actually can do damage.
Gumshoos looks like you-know-who and also has a Totem.

Watchog gets nothing and is lost in a sea of 156 new Pokemon.

Shitposting aside, the Patrat line will always be unforgettable for me because of their eyes and their abundance during the Unova games, especially with their Detects and Super Fangs. Bunnelby has nothing for me outside of Diggersby, and because of that what I'm remembering is Diggersby, not Bunnelby.

Bibarel's typing played a major factor in making it a popular choice for HM filler, getting STAB on four HMs in XY, five HMs in DPPt, ORAS, and Gen V, and SIX in HGSS.

All Watchog was good for was rare wild mon hunting, drawing wild mons to it with Illuminate. It is also a fair revenge killer with Retaliate.

I thought most people regarded it as ugly. The eyes are too striking. I don't dislike them, but I'm someone who likes all the regional rodents to a degree and Patrat's probably my least liked.

Lenora's ace is Watchog. Furret would be the least forgettable were it not old enough to be remembered, as it's really rare compared to the rest, or even Rattata in Johto. And Furret is one of my favourites too.

I'd imagine Patrat/Watchog being memorable to peoplevwho actually played Gen V because of all the Plasma Grunts using them and spamming Hypnosis/Confuse Ray/Detect/Super Fang.
Gen V easily had the most rage inducing Grunt battles ever.
