Calling something a scam implies it was dishonestly marketed, and that isn't the case here. If anything USUM fits the bill better, what with all of that talk about "Ultra Changes" before release, despite the games being nearly identical outside of QoL changes until around the halfway point.

I don't know about scam, but the Alola games are depressingly inconsiderate after B2W2 seemed to be a sign that GF was going to give us more when it came to regional revisits within a generation.

I think the biggest scam has been there since the beginning: releasing two near-identical versions of the same game simultaneously with only one save file.

Then you go through the games as it dawns on you that half aren't even in the game or are munchlax. It was their every intention to just say buy the previous games. Also, get your friends to buy for trades. Don't forget version exclusives in frlg as well. What, you didn't know? You bought the guide didn't you? It said so right there.
