Mons to use in Crystal

Thinking about Playing through Crystal (Despite being my first Pokemon Game I don't think I've made it past sixth gym) and I've been looking for mons to use, but most of them have sub-par stats and movepools.
Can anyone recommend good Pokemon to use in Crystal (Based off of Stats, Locations in game and Movepools)

Growlithe is good, the only problem is it doesn't learn Flamethrower until level 50, but I evolved mine at level 35 (I think?) because that's when it learned Flame Wheel, and I just taught it Flamethrower with the move tutor that shows up on Wednesdays and Saturdays at the Game Corner (post E4).

Fearow is probably the best early game flyer, not a bad choice to use Kenya if you want that extra EXP.

Lanturn is PHENOMENAL in this game, actually. You wouldn't think it would be by just glancing at its stats, but it wrecks shit and has a good movepool.

Espeon wrecks shit, just make sure Eevee evolves by level 36 so you can get Psybeam. Bite being special in this gen adds some decent coverage.

Victreebel is always great if you need a good Grass type, probably the best in this game besides Venusaur.

Oh, and most of the Odd Egg mons are good. Just make sure you get a shiny, because if it's not shiny the pokemon has a 0 in every DV/IV and sucks. I hatched until I got a shiny, not caring what I got, took about 6 hatches and I got a shiny Tyrogue that I evolved into Hitmonlee.
