And that's perfectly fine. Pokemon don't have to be animals to be acceptable designs.

That's all I'd want. A copy of every gen, half in one game and half in the other, with minor redistribution of available pokemon.

All regions (that you can do in any order after the first) with better level scaling meaning that at the end of the post game, your pokemon should be at level 100.
A longer story with better villains, characters, and motivations.
The story doesn't take huge breaks for hours on end, and isn't too intrusive. (short talking segments after long routes/caves, or fights)
Better online features. (if you've beaten the story for a certain region, then friends can appear with you in that region, then you can do double battles and the like.)
the option to move the camera in any direction to admire the scenery, and look at the world from more than one angle.
