It's not about having a disagreement, it's about having to deal with the utterly cruel reactions of a lot of people online. It's like this in practically every online community, but especially bad on places like 4ch. People don't just disagree, they attack, use slurs, tell people to kill themselves. It's unpleasant even for thick skinned people who just want to have an interesting conversation. I'm guessing that's the kind of arguments that OP is referring to.
