Just bought Ultra Sun. Decided to change things up this time and do a run with a team of a specific type.

Right now I'm torn between dragon and poison.

Dragon's my favorite type due to it having some of my favorite mons (tyrantrum, noivern, kommo-o, and druddigon are all great IMO, and I legit like nearly every non-legendary dragon).

Meanwhile poison is a fun type with some other favorites (Nidoking by far, venomoth, crobat, drapion, seviper, and scolipede are all really cool).

I'm trying to decide between the two. My main concern is dragon has some rather high BST mons and I'm expecting US to already be a cake walk...

Someone help me decide.

Poison is very easy to start with and play the game normally. You don't need to bother porting anything over since Grimer, Ekans, Zubat are all available before you even finish the first island.

Aren't Dragon types usually hard to get a hold of?
I think Noibat is available somewhat early in the game, but building a Poison team would probably be easier and give you more options (That is if you aren't porting or trading).

I've been porting/trading so there's that. I already have a tyrunt and noibat (but they're unusable until I get to the daycare because they were traded). I ported a jangmo-o egg so I'd have it and not have to wait until way late in the game.

Dragon is fine. You get about 2-3 dragons per island and the trials typically all have something that can handle them. It can be pretty tought at times considering their late evolutions and low BST until said evolution. Noibait (your earliest Dragon encounter) will most likely be dead weight during and after the second island until it evolves since it isn't even good for the first island.
