Because at the end of the day, Smogon is the most fun to me. Why the fuck else would people follow it? Pokemon is not a balanced game, it will never BE balanced, but it's fun to play competitively. Smogon tries as hard as possible to balance an unbalanced and weird ass game.

Is it always pretty? Or stable? Not at all. Is it still decent? Yeah. And does it allow for more versatility than the other formats? I would say so.

RU is best tier.
