USUM was fine, but there were too many new Pokemon this generation. As a Generation 1 fan, I think it would be in your best interest to give want most fans want. I think for your Switch games you should either have a Kanto remake because it's been ages since FRLG's release, or a new region with Kanto Pokemon. I also liked how we had the option to pick Charizard as a stater in Kalos, and would very much like that again. A third Mega evolution for Charizard would also be cool.
In terms of characters, Lillie was really the only character that I was really into, as well as Gladion to an extent. I know I'm asking for too much, but can you make Lillie a playable character in your new games? That would be really cool.
