Will it be remembered as the golden era of Pokémon? Not just games, but the franchise as a whole?

I believe so. Gen 3, 4, and 5 were so satisfying. Truly a great time to be a Pokémon fan. Especially between 2005 and 2008.

Yeah, that's why it's only 1 & 2, before, you know, Masuda doomed the series to eternal mediocrity and stagnation.
Luckily the pokemon themselves are still going strong.

Really enjoyed 4th gen and early 5th gen.
3rd gen was alright.
Dont have any strong feelings about 6th, but 7th sucks.

I do. They had the most content of all first games after all.
Hell that's half the reason their follow up games were so much better than the others

DP: physical/special split, arguable the best change in Pokemon history

Actually, not really, since the wifi in gen 4 was absolute garbage while the colors in gen 2 worked well
