A lot of people hate on Pokemon based on inanimate objects but they also like some of them. People really like shit like Aegislash and Bronzong but don't like Garbodor and Klefki. This is because Aegislash is based off of a possessed sword which is pretty cool and Bronzong has a fitting, wise look to him. Garbodor on the other hand is literally based on trash and Klefki is a pair of keys. Both of these aren't exactly the textbook definition of badass.

Personally, I think they're cool so long as they have a good design and are based off of something cool looking
