The only healthy stance is to accept they're shooting for 2018 but with some signs now pointing to that probably not being the case. With no ability to definitively state it won't be 2018 unless the actual devs or Nintendo come out and say it, or September has come with no mention since they have released games only 3 and a half months in advance in the past meaning August is the least possible moment assuming they don't go further down the secrecy hole than they did with Ru/Sa.
