Lets Play a game /vp/.
For each Generation, give one complement and one criticism. Hard Mode: Be sincere
Gen 1: Pro: A fun on the road game

Con: Ghosts do dick to Psychic even though the in game advice is to go catch one

Gen 2: Pro: Two regions in one baby
Con: Kanto feels... empty

Gen 3:Pro: Running, finally!
Con: The new Pokemon are just not my taste

Gen 4: Pro: Mountain and Cold Regions yeah!
Con: The transition to the DS was awkward as the developers never seemed comfortable with the touch screen

Gen 5: Map was well done, left alot to be explored in the post game
Con: The number of times you are stopped for a long dialog from random characters/friends are a bit too much.

Gen 6: Pro: They finally got online for the most part
Con: Mega Evolution should have been better thought out. Most Pokemon with Mega Evolutions can't even implement them well enough to be single player game usable.

Gen 7: Pros: Regional Variants are nice. Now never used Pokemon kinda standa chance at being used thanks to this.
Con:This was Lillie's Story, not mine. My character just tagged along for the ride and free Legendary.

I think your post did all the games justice, pretty much all on point. (Although I personally think gen 3 was one of the best design-wise overall)

I think a good con for gen 3 would be not being able to transfer your guys over from the two previous gens.

Gen 2:
Pro: Johto feels incredibly comfy, it was amazing
Con: They would have done better to sac Kanto all together just to double the size of Johto.

Gen 3: Please note I am biased against R/S/E
Pro: Fire Red/Leaf Green was the update Gen 1 needed.
Con: To this day, I will always hate gamefreak for being the people that killed my gen 2 bros. I have not been able to find my soul silver cartridge and I'm sure it got tossed out sometime when I was a preteen during the divorce, so a 3DS xfer is impossible now.

Gen 4: Please note I have a bias for these games
Pro: Pokemon origins answered and the long awaited return to Johto
Con: It might have only been me, but the GTS kept fucking up on both my Platinum and Soul Silver versions.

Gen 5:Please note I am biased against B/W, but I love B2/W2
Pro: I think the idea that the map is based on the region around New York is really neat.
Con: B/W left a bad taste in my mouth due to the fact that frequently, I just wanted to go somewhere, only to accidentally trigger a cut scene

Gen 6:
Pro: For some reason, the Pokemon designs resonate with me, also Wonder Trade is hilarious
Con: Leaving some of the mega stones for the post game is a bit of a dick move to first time single players.

Gen 7:
Pros: I like Z-Moves because it makes weak pokemon dangerous for a single player game. They aren't locked out of having a power like Mega Evolution did.
Con: You have had and X/Y, ORAS, thats about 5 years worth of practice making 3D games gamefreak, and you still have not handed control of the camera to the player via L/R buttons. That alone shows you're not even trying anymore.
