Why even bother puttig the effort into designing/programming these things into the game as fully trainable Pokemon if you can’t keep them?

Libre Pikachu was put in Pokken around the time when Cosplay Pikachu was relevant, (Generation 6th) because that's when the fucking game was made for the Wii U. You can't expect the development team to remove a character programmed into the game for a PORT.

All I've ever wanted is for Pikachu to be useful, and giving it a bunch of new moves with thematic reasons behind them was a great way to do it.

Plus they just looked cool.

I don't get why they weren't carried forward. Sun and Moon used the exact same battle graphics. There was no reason to cut them.
