I found out what shinies were and then I never evolved the sandshrew because I was afraid it would lose shininess. (I guess I didn't know about soft-resetting either)
Anyway, my brother deleted the save file (but it worked out because I KO'd groudon because my friend told me catching it would permanently faint my pokemon and not let me take them out of my party)
Then ORAS came out with the dexnav and I found a replacement and named it Ruby, which was cool because Sandslash is red.
THEN when SM came out I SOS chained for a shiny alola sandshrew and named it Sapphire.
I guess none of this is very haunting, but I thought it was neat we found the same shiny in the same game.
