Ash brings it to the UB headquarters Ather set up in the school for them and when we see it next, Lusamine tells Ash to catch it and be its partner for a while as they wanted to learn more about it and they couldn't find its Ultra Hole to send it back from where it came. Ash throws nearly all the Beast Balls they had at HQ and missed as Poipole kept dodging them and Ash showed Poipole how it was supposed to work by recalling and sending out Rowlet several times. He was about to throw the last beast ball, when Poipole activated the ball on its own accord. For what it's worth, most of the episode was focused on Poipole's obsession with Pikachu and as soon as he met Ash, he was interested in him too.
