They may not be as buggy as Gen 1, but the play experience feels like a chore. This isn't even getting into whether the region is good, or the new Pokemon, etc. Just picking the game up and having a few battles. It feels like complete ass, like dragging yourself through muck as you mash A over and over praying it will somehow make things go faster. Not even XY was that bad.
Saying other games are worse because they felt boring doesn't even come close to matching the basic fundamental flaws in DP. Those games aren't even bearable. I can't even put up with them long enough to get bored.
Besides, it's nothing new for Pokemon to be boring. It's a pretty boring series with bland characters, meaningless stories, and no actual protagonists. 99% of the battles you can just mash A on the same move over and over to win, and failing that you just use the rock paper scissors type chart. Pokemon games are only really interesting when you're a kid and you don't know any better. It's normal for an adult to get bored playing these games regardless of whether you're playing the best or the worst of them. (unless you're playing DP in which case you probably stop playing out of annoyance or pain before you get the chance to feel bored)
