Did anyone else not realize the place where you battle Red was supposed to be a summit until HGSS? I always thought it was a massive cave and the black was darkness.

Same. I always found this room really ominous, with a sheer black drop either side and a whole lot of nothing. The mountaintop in HGSS funnily enough doesn't have that same sense of foreboding.

I thought it was a cave too. The summit probably makes more sense for a final, climactic battle though.

Did anyone else try to find a mythical Mt. Gold as a kid? I thought if there was a Mt .Silver there had to be a Mt. Gold. I tried everything.
