started playing pokemon with ruby
never played red or blue because I honestly think it would be depressing. I liked fire red but Kanto feels sterile to life compared with Hoenn or Johto. It has a boxy layout, the pokemon are oddly detailed, and the maps are pantomimes at natural environments. Endless mazes, contiguous grass, stark characters, and a waste remade. No thanks.

I don't get why everyone bashes gen 1. Yes they pander to charzaird but other then that every gen is it's own game. Alolan variants for gen 1 mons was very much needed . Gen 1 mons have horrible stats because of power creeping and are the least used besides gengar,charzaird and alakazam and the evees. In the future as more games are made I'm sure gamefreak is going to give all the other gen mons special gimmicks like regional variants and more Megan etc. stop crying already if it was for the foundation you wouldn't even have Pokemon

Gen 5 is shit , ugliest starters (most ppl agree) a third fire fighting starter, almost all of the new Pokemon are try hard gen 1 Pokemon but shittier , garbage Pokemon that pretty much represents the series of gen 5, if you play nuzlocke you pretty much end up with the same team again and again,

The only thing about gen 5 that was decent was it's story and the region that's it. But there are Pokemon games with a better story (gen 7) and there are other Pokemon games with better regions (gen2,kalos) gen 5 is the absolute worst and most ppl agree
