And no, we don't get a new generation every 3 years. Gens 3 and 4 were 4 years each. Furthermore, the configuration of games in each 3-year cycle is different:
Cycle 1 (2008-2010): Enhanced version, remake, new generation
Cycle 2 (2012-2014): Enhanced version, new generation, remake
Cycle 3 (2016-2018?): New generation, enhanced version, (new generation?)
This is assuming we do get the game in 2018, but many signs are pointing to a 2018 release more so than 2019 release.
