They've made the anime very similar to the study of real animals. Legendary Pokémon are those not commonly seen. Not being seen much means not being studied much leading to unknown gender, not genderless.
Furthermore, trans people are not genderless. As my brother will tell you, he is biologically female and presenting as male. If you were to tell him he has no gender or was some kind of weird in between thing, he'd punch you in the fucking face.
Trans people are called that because they're going from one to the other. To imply you have no gender (which you do, in fact, have) to begin with and calling yourself trans implies I could stand in one spot and say I'm walking on the trans Canada highway.
You need to be in transition from one "place" to another. If you're not either to begin with (which again, you aren't, but even saying you were) then you can't be trans by definition.
And are retarded if you care about it anyway. Representation is for bigots. For people who cannot treat "others" as if they're human. for people who cannot feel empathy for "others", for people who consider those in their group above "others".
I have never once considered race or gender or sexuality when I thought a character was a good one or a bad one and that's because I'm not a piece of shit bigot.
And I say this as someone who doesn't "feel" like any gender. Has no idea what that even means. So don't even bother trying to start with me. Your name is for describing you, not your gender. Simple as that.
