You're not going to get any sound competitive advice here.
The most progress you'll make will be on your own.
Despite Pokemon being a heavily social game, when it comes to strong teambuilding and intricate sets, everyone becomes all "hush hush" cause they don't wanna reveal their special snowflake strategy.

If something isn't working, then don't ignore it, change it or adapt to it the best you can.
