Is the expectation of new pokemon the only reason you stay with this franchise?

If Gamefreak came out and said "we will make new games, but we're never adding more pokemon" would you quit the franchise?

Honestly no,I would keep playing the game,cause I mainly play it for ye unique and charming gym/trail captain,your rival,normal trainers,the elite four,the Pokémon champion the professor,Hell even the evil team as well,and I’ll also come to the region,just because it may seem they are only releasing it for the Pokémon,some peps,like me,go out and enjoy the game from the characters and region,it doesn’t have to be the Pokémon,for me it’s. characters,region,and the story.

If they actually bothered innovating the gameplay (real time, open world, seamless battle transitions, etc) then yes. Otherwise no. The games are samey enough as they are.

I'm in it because I hope they'll come to their senses one day and go back to making games where you can walk twenty steps without getting cutscene'd. If they deliver on that but stop making new mons, I'd be happy enough to pay money for the games. But if they just rework the storyshit without improving gameplay? Count me out.

Nope, there's plenty of potential for new and interesting mechanics and games while making use of the current pool of Pokemon. That being said it would definitely take the pressure off of missing a Gen.
