I picked this up today for 20 € or 25 $ for my American friends.
I have absolutely no knowledge of this generation as the last game I played was pokemon white on release.
What am I in for?

a pretty fun game, though certainly not perfect and youll probably be frustrated once or twice in certain areas, like the power plant. Youll get the exp. share after the first gym but turn it off if you want more 'challenge' (for a pokemon game)

Also pick the girl. the boy gets shit clothes, and clothing choices is one of the main positives of the game.

I get good vibes from Froakie, but Fennekin doesn´t look too bad either.

Good taste, because you can get mega venusaur anyway. Id pick fennekin since you cant access protean greninja, and there are plenty of water types you could get. but overall just pick which aesthetic you like best.

Don't play it like you did previous games. If you like fighting fodder trainers, turn off exp share. If you don't, leave exp share on and skip as many fodder trainers as you can.

You're in for a half-assed story with some of the most blandest characters in the entire franchise.
