This meme. Get over it fags, it's one poll and on top of that it's from japan. You know the place that voted magemite to be more popular then Blaziken & sceptile and nearly every other starter and pokemon. It made it top 27 out of 820 pokemon. It's clear Japan people have strange taste. Plus Decidueye is extremely popular here in the west and we got over 50 polls to prove that. And on top of that Rowlet won that poll. It's clear Japanese like Rowlet over Decidueye. But American love Decidueye over Rowlet and that's practically fact.

Gen 8 development has probably started in 2015, and there are good reasons to believe this was also the period around which SSB5 development has started. It's not farfetched at all to think that around the mid stages of development of both games TPC sent reference sheets to the SSB team for a new Pokemon character.

Think from a marketing standpoint. Nintendo and TPC both will want to sell Switches and Gen 8 Pokémon games at this point, not 3DS and Alola games both of which are basically on life support right now. It makes more sense to put a new Pokemon from Gen 8 in the game because it helps shilling the new games. It doesn't matter if Smash will be out a few months before Pokemon, it's not like they haven't put in characters from games that had yet to come out in the past(Roy, Corrin).

Magnemite is king of the object Mons and has a much better design than almost every starter. It's had appearances in movies/anime/spin-offs etc and will remain popular thanks to being a Gen 1 Pokémon. Pokémon go has also helped it in recent years.

What's strange to me is that people unironically consider the starters to be amongst the best Pokémon of each generation. But any adult who thinks Decidueye looks genuinely cool is almost certainly a pedophile and that's practically fact.

Yes, the typical Decidueye is a skinny beta male. He's managed to get some "abs" but they're really his organs showing through the lack of fat. As a result only young girls, who don't know any better, find these "muscles" attractive and Decidueye lurks on schools and malls as a result. Just waiting for that next group of 15 year olds who need him to buy their alcohol for them.

Unfortunately due to their cuckbased lifestyles and underaged diets Decidueye are prone to extreme outbursts and should be avoided at all costs. Don't be friends with people older than you. There's a reason the people their own age abandoned them.
