Following pokemon is my obvious first choice. One thing I really liked that gen 5 did was have dynamic town music where depending on where you stand or who you talk to the music gets altered.

Level and Moon balls looked fucking awesome though even if their purposes were niche. I would agree though the lure ball seems unnecessary when we already have net and dive balls. I would like more pokeball designs in general.

They literally are.
Grass/bushes/trees rustle and Pokemon jump out.
Dust clouds move about in many places (Haina Desert, Poni Coast).
Shadows on route 3 I think.
Bubbling spots appear on the water and rare Pokemon have a higher chance of appearing.

1 week for each season. Have them do more but also have alternate ways to get around most of it so you aren't waiting forever for locked material. Like snow can block one path but opens an alternate one that lets you still get it if you have rock climb or acrobike or something. Or Winter freezing over water routes so you can walk/slide across routes instead of surfing, but there are enough gaps in the ice to still have dive spot and fishing holes. Spring time has berries grow faster. Stuff like that.

i guess that's true. its not exactly like id want though. i liked it more when they appeared randomly at werent at set spots that i found myself avoiding the second time walking past. them randomly popping up made it more intriguing and i also liked the (albeit dust cloud only) items you could find more than the berries and..sharp beaks? you find in gen 7. gems were like z-moves but didnt make the game easy as shit and finding shards was great because of bw2s move tutor. i dont remember being impressed with anything i found in gen 7 but i probably missed something. i couldnt imagine a "find dust clouds" funfest mission not being anything but a joke if they were just in the same place every time.

also i didnt remember those having rare pokemon because literally all i remember is fearow which you can find Spearow on the same route, so thatd be the same as bw where you just find the evolved form of the pokemon, but i looked it up and there is a few unique ambush pokemon. i just wish it was implemented better/expanded upon. i also wouldn't count crabrawler because it's all you ever find in the berry spots. audino i liked becaus it gave you more experience so there was still a benefit to finding it even if it was 90% of the rustling grass

all in all i hope the feature returns and its expanded on. the pokemon also dont feel that rare when theyre in a set spot and most of them (this applies to gen 5 too) are just evolved forms of pokemon on that route. i know its small differences but itd turn an a good(gen5)/alright(gen7)feature into a really cool feature to me.

I guess there aren't so many rare Pokemon in the shaking spots, but certain 1% Pokemon like Dhelmise are more common in the bubbling spots.

And we got Chansey in the bushes as a replacement for Audino.

That's one of the things that cement HGSS as the best for me
following pokemon was nice, but the HGSS touchscreen interface was the best they ever had
and then when we went back to Platinum, I was disappointed because they brought back the stupid shit from DP
Like, they finally figured out how to do it right, and then they just abandon it

that's not even close to the same thing anon
other anon is talking about random events that occur in one spot of the grass/water, and you might be lucky to reach if another mon doesn't attack
you're talking about preset events that always occur and have the same shitty common pokemon charge if you get too close, which is more of a hassle than some kind of special event

Dexnav was the best feature GF ever made, once you got a pokemon there's no need to scramble in the grass to get it again, reduced time wasting with egg-moves, IVs and natures without making breeding worthless and also helped to keep track of each route all in one.

Some o the poketch features where neat, like the stepcounter, berry map, stat checker, pokemon history and so on...

Either make them purely cosmetic or add a way to get the items out of season, like using hail or rain dance in the map to change the layout to their respective climate until you leave or use another weather.

It only appears in spring form in 6/7, but if you transfer one from gen 5 then it stays in the form it came in and its offspring keep its parent's form if you breed it too I think.

They could have just not fucking changed anything because a seasonal-based form doesn't actually need fucking overworld effects, or maybe just not fucking be lazy and keep seasonal overworld effects, but no gamefreak has to be retarded.

FUCKING ARCADES

They dropped so much good shit from gens 4 and 5, it was absolutely insane. And Gen 7 basically brought almost nothing to the table. Nothing good anyway. Pokeriding is fucking awful, but I'll accept USUM Mantine riding as not being that bad. And the Battle Tree was a good idea, but it was done better with the World Tournament in 5th gen, honestly.

I could literally go on forever, but I need to stop being angry at some point.

ive also found out/realized over time that those were really popular among casual players and people who really like the bonding with your pokemon features, like pokemon walking behind you and pokemon amie in general.

i wouldnt be surprised if everyone here hated them but its just extra shit and itd be beneficial if gamefreak just kept it in gen 7 but they didnt for some reason

If Pikachu can follow Ash around for 20+ years, I want to be able to have at minimum my starter able to do the same in each game.

Walking around with them is part of what can elevate them, because then they’re not just tools trapped in a ball.
