And keep in mind that Kyurem is said to have come from the stars (but we don't know if this before or after the split). Also, when you think about it, unlike other legendaries Zekrom and Reshiram have no power/influence over the natural world. Gen 4 trio help create the universe. Gen 3 trio crated the land, sea, and sky. Lugia, Ho-oh, and Regigigas maintain and guard the sea, sky and land. Gen 6 are the embodiment of Life, Death, and Order. And Solgaleo and Lunala are being techinaclly Ultra Beast just serve the Sun and Moon. Reshiram and Zekrom are only the gods of truth and ideals because of the polarization of the two brothers. Top it off there's a good number of parallels between Necrozma and Kyurem. But that's just me.
