>>35225152Nah it could be cool.
My main concern though would be the Pokémon distribution.
Do we really want to wade through Pidgeys and Tentacools for the 20th time?
There would have to be some exciting new forms to add value to the stale gen 1 mons.
I thought about a few ways to make Kanto fresh:
Include all evos and babies in the dex this time.
Give every mon in the dex different forms based on nature - a Scrappy mon has a small scar on its eye, a Lax mon has wider cheeks for example.
Make these differences subtle enough to not be triggering but obvious enough for fans to be able to identify differences when hunting certain ones.
Up to 2 Pokémon can follow you. Certain natures are more common depending on how many mons are following you.
Give all evolved mons in the dex a Mega evolution. The Mega Eevees are all part-Dragon.
Give us some sort of sidequest that explains the existence of Charizard X and Mewtwo X (Were they manmade by Mr Fuji against his will?), Giovanni's rise to power and the relationship between Oak and Agatha.
Maybe Kanto forms of Unova/Kalos mons (commentary on western pigs coming to Japan).
Make towns and cities much more elaborate but keeping the general layout so as to not make them unrecognisable.
Ambush Battles: Some battles against Team Rocket force you to select an attack within 3 seconds or you forfeit your turn. Wild mons can also jump out at you and do the same.
Collectible trading cards with cool new art or info on Pokémon or characters.
Lone Pokémon from other regions in the wild that you have to "rescue" because they've been abandoned, you can then add them to your team under certain circumstances ie by playing with them in Refresh at the "Rescue Agency" or some shit like that.
An Expert Mode can be unlocked under special circumstances on Mt Moon (to make it foolproof). Expert Mode makes trainers have better movesets and IV distribution.
Bring the gen 6/7 Exp Share back with the gen 5/7 Exp yield.
