Pokemon fans are going to buy whatever the fuck they put out, and that's that. They're not looking to impress us, they're trying to get the fanbase they had back in 1998-1999 to buy again.
They could market the shit out of Kanto to millennials, with nostalgia being a big driving force, and sell the shit out of the Switch too, which is all Nintendo wants.
