>find never before seen Pokemon >track it down>research what you can from it’s wild state before taming it>share finding and get credit for new research Instead we get
>PC ends up spending an entire game reaffirming a Professor’s handiwork>field research is essentially useless even in Hoenn which is ironicWell.. admittedly there was Hoopa and Mirage Spot mons that weren’t “found” in RSE timeline. Other than that however, it feels like someone has the answers before you do. All Pokemon have a proper name, you only get to nickname them. You almost never see them move independently in the over-world
