Is this game worth it if I already played the Wii U version? Is it worth it period?

Depends. Did you enjoy the Wii U version? If so, yes this game is worth it. I've had DX since day 1 and I still enjoy it.

I've got 100~ hours on it.
Really depends on wether you want to dedicate yourself to learn the mechanics and movesets.

As far as I can tell, once you get used to it is exrtemely fun, every poke got it's own style and I really feel like playing a "Pokémon" game, the game is balanced and the devs care about quality content.

It has actually gotten me into fighting games as a whole. I love that all the attack names are faithful to the RPGs. I recommend it highly. 100 hours in on ranked.

Its fun to pass the time as a casual and when you put in enough work using pokemon in the game can be quite fun, ive had it maybe 2 weeks maining only Gengar and its great fun

Unless you REALLY liked it or fancy getting into the competitive scene it's probably not too compelling to get. It really doesn't add anything over the WiiU version other than the daily missions.

if you've got someone to play it with, I'd definitely recommend it.
I traded in my Wii U copy for the switch version to cut the price a bit. (no point keeping the older version)
